As the Assistant Director of Student Services for the University Career Center, Karen Ivy provides oversight for the counseling group within the office, while also focusing on further developing programs for our graduate students in Master's and Doctoral programs. She has her Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology and has finished her coursework for her Doctorate of Educational Psychology, both from Texas A&M University in College Station. Previously, she has worked with college students regarding issues in personal deveolopment as well as being involved in a grant project with high school students in the Rio Grande Valley, assisting them with career planning and adjustment to college. She is a member of the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), National Career Development Association (NCDA), Southern Association of Colleges and Employers (SoACE), and locally, San Antonio Colleges and Universities Career Center Association (SACUCCA). Karen sits on the Recruiting District Assistance Council (RDAC), a regional U.S. Navy committee, as well as a member of the Professional Development committee with SACUCCA. She has worked at the UTSA Career Center since 2006. |

Audrey Magnuson is the Director of the University Career Center and has been with the University of Texas at San Antonio since January 2007. She provides direction and oversight to the programming and activities for student services and works with each college career counselor to specifically tailor services to the needs of the students and special student populations. She also is involved in the development and delivery of customized professional development courses and events. She has a Masters Degree in Human Resources Development and Management. She has worked in various levels of the Career Counseling field to include Vocational training and local Industry Cluster training development, higher education and curriculum development, career counseling, planning and assessment for students from High School to professional clients seeking a career change. She is also a 23 year Military Veteran and understands their unique needs. She is a member of the Texas Cooperative Education and Internship Association, National Association of College and Employers, National Career Development Association, Southern Association of Colleges and Employers and the American Society of Engineering Education. |

Anthony Cosby is the new Alumni Counselor at The University of Texas at San Antonio. In this role, he provides individual career counseling, occupational information, and job search strategies for alumni of all majors. Additionally, he actively outreaches and prepares eligible alumni for participation in on-campus recruiting and other career-related events.
Anthony recently retired from the United States Navy as a Lieutenant Commander. He has held key leadership positions throughout his 21-year military career and is a highly decorated officer. Most notable were his sea tour onboard the USS Roosevelt (DDG 80) as a Division Officer in which he deployed to the Mediterranean Sea in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in 2002, and his shore tour at the U.S. Naval Academy as the Executive Officer for Naval Station Annapolis. Additionally, Anthony served as an Officer Recruiter and Recruiting Operations Officer at Navy Recruiting District San Antonio. Anthony has received many accolades, such as being formally recognized as the national U.S. Navy Diversity Recruiter of the Year in 2009. He has extensive recruiting and retention experience and was selected to lead the Navy Recruiting Leadership Academy at the Navy Orientation Recruiting Unit in Pensacola, FL in 2011.
He is a graduate of Auburn University earning a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration and also holds a Master of Science in Administration from Central Michigan University. Anthony is very excited to provide career development and outreach services to UTSA Alumni.

David A. Garcia is the Career Counselor with the University Career Center assigned to work with freshman and undecided students. Prior to joining the UCC, David interned with the Tomás Rivera Center and Counseling Services as part of his graduate training in the UTSA Master of Arts program in Counseling, which he completed in May 2011. In addition to working with freshman and undecided students on major selection and career planning, he is also interested in working with issues related to first generation college students, diversity, and the LGBTQI population. David previously worked for over eight years in non-profit and local government settings as a program planner dedicated to improving social services related to substance abuse, HIV/AIDS, and child abuse and neglect. His professional affiliations include the American Counseling Association (ACA) and the National Career Development Association (NCDA). David completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Yale University. |

Mike Zucker is the Career Counselor that is designated to work with students in the College of Liberal and Fine Arts. Mike has been with UTSA Career Center for over 5 years. He is a graduate of UTSA and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. Mike has also completed his Master of Arts degree in Community/School Counseling. Mike enjoys spending his free time volunteering in the community to coach youth basketball. He coached Team San Antonio to the Bronze medal at the 2007 Maccabi games and the consolation Gold medal at the 2010 Maccabi Games in Denver. Mike has also presented at national conferences on issues such as workplace diversity and career placement. Mike is also currently serving as the staff advisor for the COLFA Council, a Student Organization here at the University of Texas at San Antonio and has served as a staff representative on the NCAA Recertification Committee for UTSA. Mike has also taught the COU 2103 Personal Career Planning Class for the previous 4 semesters. |

Mysti Frazier is a proud UTSA Alumni, earning her Master of Arts in Counseling in December 2011. She is now one of two Career Counselors focusing on students in the College of Liberal and Fine Arts (COLFA) in the University Career Center (UCC). Prevention Services, Inc., and Merced Housing Texas.

As a Career Counselor at UTSA, Rachel Griffey focuses primarily on assisting students whose majors are within the College of Sciences. She also serves as the liaison between the Career Center and the Health Professions Office. Rachel received her Master’s Degree in Counseling and Guidance with an emphasis in Student Affairs and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, both from Texas State University- San Marcos, where she also completed an internship in the Career Services office in 2009. Previously, she worked as an academic advisor in the College of Sciences at UTSA, assisting students with scheduling and degree plans. Rachel has given presentations at the regional and national conference level on topics ranging from Advising Student Veterans to College Mental Health issues. She is a UTSA ally, serves as the advisor for the Oak Hills College Student Ministry, and is a member and former fellow of the Texas Association of College and University Student Personnel Administrators. |

In addition, she spent 13 years working in the Hospitality Industry as Manager of Corporate Employment and Employee Relations as well as Training Manager. Claudia has more than five years of work experience for a multinational company in Sales and Marketing, coordinating significant projects. She is skilled in business and strategic planning, project organization and management, sales management and team building.
Claudia taught a Marketing course at Aquinas College (Nashville) for two years and, after moving to Texas, joined the University of Texas at San Antonio as one of the Career Counselors for undergraduate students in the College of Business. She has a passion for serving international students and has presented at both national and local conferences on how to assist this specific student population on obtaining jobs and internships. Lamarita joined the UTSA University Career Center in 2006 and is Career Counselor for the College of Education and Human Development (COEHD). She works closely with education students who are considering being teachers. She also works with Mexican American Studies majors. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from New Mexico State University (NMSU) and a Master of Art degree in Counselor Education from the University of New Mexico (UNM). While in undergraduate school, she had the extraordinary opportunity to do her student teaching abroad in Belize, Central America. In addition, during graduate school, Lamarita was a Career Counselor intern at UNM Career Services for one year. This exceptional experience prepared her for her previous position as the Career Planner as well as the Career Counselor for COEHD here at UTSA.
She strongly encourages students to seek an internship while in school so they can gain experience and knowledge which will contribute to the many assets they have to offer the employer. Furthermore, Lamarita encourages students to come to the University Career Center from the beginning of their freshmen year to their senior year for career exploration and development.

Otis L. Scott, Jr. known to many as “Scotty” is the new Career Counselor for the Engineering Department, where he will be working with students to help them in determining their career path. Prior to joining UCC, he was the Manager for CPS Energy’s Diversity and Institutional Alliance program. He worked in various Human Resource positions while at CPS Energy from recruiting to HR Manager for 12 years. He had a brief career with CARMAX in Houston and helped open the San Antonio Superstore that is currently located on IH-10. Prior to this he served our country in the U.S. Air Force for 24 years. Starting out in Security Force and working his way up to become the Superintendent for Advanced and Basic Courses at the Security Force Academy, Lackland Air Force Base. His knowledge and expertise resulted in him becoming a Counterintelligence Specialist and Superintendent with the On-Site Inspection Agency. This agency was responsible for enforcement of treaty requirements with signatory countries involving nuclear, biological and chemical weapons destruction. Promoted to Chief Master Sergeant, he was selected as the Command Senior Enlisted Advisor for the Air Force District of Washington. In this role he advised and oversaw issues dealing with quality of life and professional development of the enlisted force. His volunteer roles include, the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Texas State Council Diversity Director, Greater San Antonio Chamber Military Affairs Committee and Steering Committee for the African American Leadership Institute. He has been awarded the Legion of Merit, DiversityFIRST and Veterans in Business awards and retains life membership in the Tuskegee Airman Association and Air Force Sergeants Association. He completed his BA with honors from National Louis University and his MA with Webster University, majoring in Human Resource Development and Management. His goal is to provide exceptional service in helping others on their career path and ultimately making them good corporate citizens for our country -- through guidance, mentorship and instilling the values of UTSA. |

Her tenure at the UTSA Career Center Office spans over 10 years. During this time, she has had the opportunity to speak to national audiences through presentations at the National Career Development Association Annual Conference, American Humanics Management Institute, California Association for Counseling and Development Regional Conference, and as a co-presenter at the National Careers Conference. As the Career Counselor for the College of Public Policy (COPP) at the downtown campus, Dionne Davila-Granados serves students and alumni by helping them with various levels of career exploration to development needs to include such services as: career assessments, job search help, resume assistance, internship search, mock interview help, and special topic workshops (i.e. What can I do with my major; Salary Negotiations, Selecting a Major). Dionne is also the point of contact for students interested in the US Marshals' Co-Op program.
Dionne is a two time graduate from UTSA where she earned both her B.A. in Psychology and her M.A in Counseling. She has 12 years of experience in the Counseling/Social Service field, of which, 6 years has been with UTSA and has over 6 years of experience teaching at the university. Currently, she teaches a Personal Career Planning course (COU 2103) to undergraduate students and is the Social Media Committee Chair for the University Career Center where she helps moderate and oversee the various social media platforms for the Career Center.
Her professional interest areas include Career Development for First-Generation students, Social Media for Professional Development and Social Media's impact on Student Engagement. In addition, she frequently facilitates and presents on StrengthsQuest and the theories/principles proposed by strengths psychology and how others can apply those principles to their career, academics, and personal life. |
