There are many scholarships available on the Scholarships website that can help you pay for tuition. By completing one application, you can apply for all general UTSA scholarships awarded through Financial Aid for which you qualify. Although it might take a little research to find which one might benefit you the most, it's worth taking the time to do so. We recommend you complete the FAFSA, which is a prerequisite for most scholarships. Students must be admitted to UTSA by the priority deadline of March 1 in order to be considered scholarships.
Financial Aid Office
It is important to note that financial aid can only be awarded to high school graduates. Therefore, for first-time freshmen, receipt of the final high school transcript is critically important in order to actually receive aid awarded through the financial aid package.
A FAFSA must be on file in order to be considered for any form of federal, state or institutional assistance. An updated FAFSA will need to be filed each year you are enrolled at UTSA.
Scholarships offered by Admission
The undergraduate admission's office offers three scholarships to freshmen and transfer students.
Scholarships for International Students
The Office of International Programs has information on scholarships to international students. More general UTSA scholarships are available through the UTSA's Scholarships Office.
UTSA's General Scholarships
Academic and need-based scholarships are offered for qualified first-time incoming freshmen, college transfers and currently enrolled UTSA students.
First-time freshmen and transfer students can apply for UTSA general scholarships awarded through Financial Aid and Enrollment Services when you apply via applytexas.org.
Please note that colleges or departments administer their own scholarship programs and therefore have separate applications. Check with your respective college/department to determine which scholarships you may be eligible for and obtain an application.
