The faculty members welcome the new Director of the Institute for Socioeconomic and Demographic Research (IDSER): Dr. Lloyd Potter.  He is a tenured Professor of Demography in the program of Applied Demography.  Dr. Potter received his B.S. degree in Sociology from Texas A&M University, his M.S. in Education from the University of Houston and his Ph.D. in demography/sociology from The University of Texas.  He comes to UTSA from the Education Development Center, Inc. with nearly five million dollars in funded research.  He has also earned the MPH (Masters of Public Health) from Emory University. Dr. Potter has recently been elected as Graduate Program Committee Chair.

The departmental server continues to be the cornerstone for all research.  The department extends its gratitude to the Institute for providing a back-up server to secure all files.  The server now has its own drive (T) to serve the constituents in the program and department.
