What did you study in college? Why did you choose that major?
Biology with a psychology minor. I chose that major because I am a curious person so it fits me perfectly, I like knowing the how and why. I am a nerd and I love it!
How would you describe the atmosphere of UTSA?
It’s very down to earth, people are friendly, and it seems to reflect the diversity of city. It has grown so much in such a short time and has more to offer than most people are aware of.
What do you like best about San Antonio?
It has everything you would ever need.
Your best piece of advice for students:
Get involved! Yes, education should be your first priority but explore campus and meet people!

What did you study in college? Why did you choose that major?
I received my degree in Communications while studying at UTSA. I chose this major because I felt that it had everything that I was looking for. It allowed me to further my interests in professional presentation, communication theory, writing, and so much more.
What attracted you to UTSA?
I believe that the campus initially caught my attention. I felt as if I were “home” as soon as I stepped on campus.
How many UTSA shirts do you own?
I would have to say that I own at least 30 UTSA shirts.
What do you like best about San Antonio?
I love the fact that there is always something to do in San Antonio. There is always some type of festivals occurring around the city and it is always fun to try something new.
Your best piece of advice for students:
I would advise that students get involved from their very first day. Whether it be participating in intramural sports, student organizations, study groups, or even on-campus events. Your college experience is what you make it! Be sure to take advantage of the time that you have because it will fly by before you know it.

What did you study in college? Why did you choose that major?
I had an amazing history teacher in High School who instilled in me a love for history, geography and culture. From that experience, I knew that I wanted to major in history. I also knew that I wanted to pursue a graduate degree too.
How would you describe the atmosphere of UTSA?
The atmosphere around campus is spirited. I am seeing a pride and love of UTSA develop amongst the students. Everywhere you go you see UTSA t-shirts, UTSA student organizations and even the UTSA drumline marching down the Paseo!
How many UTSA shirts do you own?
I have both UTSA polos and UTSA t-shirts. Count as of July of 2012- 15 t-shirts, 5 UTSA polos and 1 UTSA headband!
What do you like best about San Antonio?
San Antonio is an amazing city! We have the Riverwalk, the Alamo and Six Flags yet we have many local events such as First Friday, Fiesta San Antonio and many other parades and festivities.
Your best piece of advice for students:
I encourage students to get involved on campus. There are so many organizations at UTSA for students to make an impact. In addition, I also challenge students to study abroad whether it is with our faculty led programs or our semester or yearlong programs.

What did you study in college? Why did you choose that major?
I have always been extremely interested in politics and the world of legislation. I hope to one day work with congress on issues affecting education, higher education, which includes but is not limited to college students, the funding available to them, and the ease of accessibility to getting a college education.
How would you describe the atmosphere of UTSA?
It is a welcoming and friendly campus, where the students have the unique opportunity to shape this university and make it their own and create lifelong traditions for future generations of Roadrunners to come!
How many UTSA shirts do you own?
I currently own 4 UTSA polo’s, but can guarantee you I will have more come football season! Go Roadrunners!
What do you like best about San Antonio?
It is a town filled with such history and historical monuments. It has a small town feel, but is a big city experience! Plus, I come from the valley so the closer I am to Mexico the better the Mexican food!
Your best piece of advice for students:
Get Involved, don’t wait. Don’t make excuses. Just do it. Find a club, organization, or get a group of friends and create your own! In four years you’ll look back and never regret it!

My Major was Theology with a Philosophy Minor which I received in May of 2012.
What did you study in college? Why did you choose that major?
I’m one of those ‘thinkers’ that likes to contemplate why I do what I do in my everyday life. Theo/Philo provided a better channel to do this.
How would you describe the atmosphere of UTSA?
UTSA is a big community that has a little bit of everything for everyone. It can be seen as a little town within a town… a town that has a Chile’s, Panda Express, and much more. :D
How many UTSA shirts do you own?
I own 1, but I am positive that I will get 5 more within the next coming weeks
What do you like best about San Antonio?
What I like Is that it‘s very cultured; it’s a home away from home. It’s also home to my San Antonio Spurs, GO SPURS GO!
Your best piece of advice for students:
Not to be afraid to get involved on campus. There is anything from Business Organizations to games such as Ultimate Frisbee.

I chose Criminal Justice as a major because it involved a lot of diversity. Not only did I take criminal justice classes, but I was able to focus on psychology, government and sociology as well.

From the minute you step foot on campus you can feel the awesome energy of the students and a great sense of school pride. It’s contagious!

I love that San Antonio is filled with great history and culture. The Riverwalk is beautiful.

Get involved in campus activities. It’s a great way to meet new friends and start the networking process to help build your resume.
