Article VI
Meeting of the Assembly
Section 1 – Scheduled Meetings
All meetings, whether scheduled or special, should be held during normal working hours Monday through Friday, to avoid undue hardship on the members. Bimonthly meetings will be held with the exact dates to be determined by The Assembly Chair. The date, time and location of the next meeting shall be announced and entered into the minutes at each meeting.
Section 2 – Special Meetings
Special meetings of The Assembly may be called by the Chair or Acting-Chair. Any seven (7) Assembly members may request that a special meeting be held to address a specific issue. At least five (5) working days’ notice should be given to all members prior to a called special meeting. The specific purpose of the special meeting must be stated in the notification and only the identified special issues may be addressed in the special meeting.
Section 3 – Quorum
Quorum consists of at least one officer and a minimum of 50 percent plus one of the representatives. Quorum is required for an Assembly meeting to be official.
Section 4 – Voting
Quorum is required for an Assembly vote to be taken. Only Assembly members have the right to vote. Except for the Chair or Acting-Chair, each member is entitled to one vote on each question. No proxy votes are permitted. Except as otherwise specified by these Bylaws, all votes shall be decided by a majority of those members present.
