Kerry's Korner ...... Thanks again to all of you who labored diligently to make this Fall’s first week as smooth as it was. Dr. Romo said, “It was the smoothest transition into the Fall semester that I’ve seen.” Team work was essential and you all did a magnificent job. As we enter this new academic year, we have an immediate opportunity to participate in the State Employee Charitable Campaign (SECC). This is a wonderful vehicle to give back to our community and meet a variety of needs through local charities. More than 500 UTSA personnel families have been assisted by one or more participating charities. Last year, participation by all Business Affairs departments reached 53%, with departmental participation ranging from 21% to 100%. The Facilities Services area is the largest among Business Affairs and 64% of their employees participated! I hope you will join me in contributing to the SECC this year, knowing that no matter the size of your contribution, it will make a difference in the lives of your neighbors and this great city of San Antonio. Let’s have Business Affairs set the example and raise the participation bar to 65%!. Thank you for your participation. We’ll celebrate our increased participation in October! Kerry |

THE
HOLIDAY SEASON WILL BE HERE BEFORE YOU KNOW IT HR recommends that all managers have their employees submit their vacation requests starting now to determine departmental coverage for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, to include the skeleton crew days in December. Please refer to the UTSA holiday schedule. As always, all employee requests for leave during the holidays are subject to business needs and management approval. Taking action early can help the department provide needed coverage, minimize disruption and provide employees the opportunity to plan ahead. |
