Campus Services offers ADA and Disabled Veteran parking in accordance with the Texas Transportation Code. View our ADA and Disabled Veteran parking maps for the Main and Downtown campuses and follow the guidelines below.

ADA Parking

In conjunction with the Texas Transportation Code for privileges for persons with disabilities, UTSA offers the following ADA parking options.

Parking with a UTSA Garage Permit

Parking options with an ADA placard/license plate and valid UTSA garage parking permit :

  • ADA or unmarked space of the garage for which your permit allows.
  • ADA surface space or any other surface spaces for which your permit allows.
  • Surface pay by space location at no charge.

Parking with a UTSA Surface Permit

Parking options with an ADA placard/license plate and valid UTSA surface parking permit :

  • ADA surface space or any other surface spaces for which your permit allows.
  • Surface pay by space location at no charge.

Visitor (No UTSA Permit)

Parking options with an ADA placard/license plate, but no UTSA parking permit:

  • Surface pay by space location at no charge.
  • ADA space inside a campus parking garage at the hourly parking rate.

Disabled Veteran Parking

In conjunction with the Texas law for privileges for disabled veterans, UTSA offers the following parking options.  Please reference Transportation Code  504.315 and 504.316; and Education Code  681.008 to determine eligibility and more information.  If you have questions, please contact our office.

Parking with a UTSA Garage Permit

Parking options with a Disabled Veteran license plate with the International Symbol of Access or valid disabled parking placard, and valid UTSA garage parking permit :

  • ADA or unmarked space of the garage for which your permit allows.
  • ADA surface space or any other surface spaces for which your permit allows.
  • Surface pay by space location at no charge.

Parking with a UTSA Surface Permit

Parking options with a Disabled Veteran license plate with the International Symbol of Access or valid disabled parking placard, and valid  UTSA surface parking permit:

  • ADA surface space or any other surface spaces for which your permit allows.
  • Surface pay by space location at no charge.

Visitor (No UTSA Permit)

Parking options with a Disabled Veteran license plate with the International Symbol of Access or valid disabled parking placard, but no UTSA parking permit:

  • Surface pay by space location at no charge.
  • ADA space inside a campus parking garage at the hourly parking rate.

Effective Jan. 1, 2022 Senate Bill 792 requires that as of Jan. 1, 2022, anyone parking in a disabled parking space must have a license plate or a disabled parking placard that features the International Symbol of Access (ISA).


Temporary Disabilities

For temporary disabilities, obtain a temporary ADA credential through the state and display it with your existing valid UTSA parking permit. For information on how to obtain state-issued ADA credentials, visit the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles.
