The X-ray diffraction facility, under the supervision and care of Dr. Hadi Arman, offers the chemistry department with the means of X-ray diffraction analysis which is the most reliable route for ascertaining the structure of crystalline materials.
The facility maintains a state of the art Rigaku diffractometer. This sealed tube system is equipped with a CCD area detector and can analyze samples at various temperatures. Data processing and analysis are executed on PCs running Microsoft Windows. In addition to the diffractometer, the facility also has access to the electronic Cambridge Structural Database.
