What to do on Commencement Day

Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 10:00 a.m.
College Education & Human Development, and College of Sciences

  • Arrive at the Alamodome at 8 a.m. (doors open for guests at this time also) for check-in and lineup. If you are not on time, you may forfeit your right to walk the stage. The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m.
  • Graduates will check-in and pick up their name card, fill out the back of the card for photo information, and proceed to line up in numerical order as indicated on the card.
  • Please do not bring belongings (purses, bags, etc...) with you to check-in. There will not be a coat check available. *You will not be allowed to go to the upper level once you check-in.
  • There is a $10 parking fee per vehicle, cash only, for designated Alamodome parking.
  • Graduates and guests will park in Lots B & C. Graduates will enter through the south entrance loading dock. Guests will enter through the North Plaza entrance.
  • Once in the Alamodome, graduates will follow designated signs to find the assigned check-in rooms.
  • All names will be called. The ceremony will last approximately 2–2.5 hours.
  • Students are required to remain in their seats throughout the entire ceremony.
  • After the ceremony, please exit the Alamodome immediately to meet your friends and family at the North Plaza. No re-entry will be allowed.

College of Architecture, College of Business, and College of Public Policy

Services for Graduates with Disabilities

Degree candidates with disabilities, who need accommodations to participate in their Commencement ceremony, are asked to contact Sally Crouser in the Special Events Center. The office is open between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Please call 210-458-6110, or email at commencement@utsa.edu to further discuss accommodation possibilities.

Accommodation requests must be made by Friday, May 2, 2014. While every effort will be made to make accomodations, the University may be unable to fulfill last-minute requests.
