From the Director of Community Outreach
As the Director of Community Outreach, I extend greetings on behalf of the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) and thank you for visiting our website.
UTSA remains committed to building partnerships in the communities that we serve. Through collaborative efforts, we seek to promote education, remove barriers to higher education and increase the college graduation rate in Texas. As I visit communities and begin to build new partnerships or strengthen existing partnerships in the South Texas area, I look forward to working with students, parents, civic leaders, educators, principals, superintendents, college presidents, mayors and all friends of education to accomplish these goals.
It is clear that a prosperous economic future in Texas depends on an educated Texas workforce. In addition, greater civic involvement, improved health and a better quality of life are all linked to higher education. With this in mind, it is imperative that communities unite to create a college going culture: from elementary schools, middle schools, high schools, community colleges and universities all the way to the local businesses and city hall. Education is a community wide endeavor that requires collaborative solutions.
UTSA looks forward to many opportunities to become engaged in your community. Please contact me and let me know how we can work together. Together, we can have a greater impact on the educational and economic future of Texas. I look forward to visiting your community, having you visit UTSA and working with you in the near future.
