Demography and Organization Studies - New Faculty
Dr. Lloyd Potter has been appointed Professor in the Department of Demography and Organization Studies. Potter has an established record of published research including nearly thirty refereed journal articles. These publications have appeared in some of the best venues of the discipline such as Demography, JAMA, Rural Sociology, Statistics in Medicine and many health-related journals. He has focused areas of published research in suicide prevention, mental health, abusive behavior. As Principal Investigator or Co-PI,he operates on more than $5,000,000 of funded research annually.
He has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in Demography, Public Policy, Population and Analytical Techniques in Demography. Potter has spent most of his career in the public sector at the Center for Study and Prevention of Injury, Violence, and Suicide, at the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
