International Trade Center
The inaugural Hill Country International Business Conference was held at the Boerne Chamber of Commerce on September 7th. This conference focused on the opportunities and challenges specific to small business in the Hill Country involved in international trade. This was the first time an event of this kind has been organized in the Hill Country. Boerne Mayor Mike Schultz kicked off the conference and issued a mayoral proclamation.
This event provided attendees with the opportunity to connect and network with other business owners currently conducting international business. Also experts in international business development, finance and social media provided the latest information on topics such as:
- Emerging international markets and new free trade agreements
- Export finance programs and credit tools for exporters
- Using social media and search tools to create international sales opportunities.
Small Business Development Center
The Veteran Small Business Symposium was a one-day conference where the Small Business Development Center brought local veteran agencies together to provide resources and assistance to veterans wanting to start a business or expand their business to other markets such as government contracting.
Supplier/Vendor Network Breakfast
The Supplier/Vendor Network Breakfast is a free monthly networking breakfast where the Small Business Development Center invite representatives from government agencies and military installations to come and educate contractors on how they can successfully win government contracts with their organizations. This breakfast gives contractors opportunities to network and potentially find partners or business leads to grow their business.
Eagle Ford Shale Informational Sessions
Eagle Ford Shale Informational Sessions are designed to assist small business on how to market themselves to Eagle Shale Ford employers. These sessions are also conducted on a monthly basis.
