La Despedida

The 17th Annual La Despedida (The Farewell) Graduation Ceremony was held at the Downtown Campus on Saturday, May 12, from 8 – 10:30 p.m. A total of 19 graduated, 18 faculty participated in the ceremony and approximately 240 guests attended. La Despedida is a registered student organization and its sole purpose is to provide a bilingual, bicultural graduation ceremony as a celebration “para la familia, para la raza, para la comunidad.”

The graduates represent the following colleges: COA, COB, COEHD, COLFA, COPP, and the Honors College. Fifteen of the graduates earned their Bachelor’s Degree, 3 earned their Master’s Degree and one earned a Doctorate Degree.
