Tuition Assistance From Outside Sources
Students receiving tuition assistance (i.e.: Texas Tomorrow Fund, Early High School, Educational Aide, Military, ROTC, Department of Rehabilitation Services, or from their employers) must provide the signed and approved form to the Fiscal Services Office (JPL 1.03.06) as payment for tuition and fees prior to the payment deadline. UTSA will bill the agency directly for the approved amount of tuition of fees. Any remaining balance not covered by the third party agency is the responsibility of the student.
State Exemptions
Exemptions are a type of financial assistance allowing some Texas residents to attend a public college or university in Texas without paying tuition or, in some cases, tuition and fees. Please review the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board website for a full list of exemption programs available for Texas residents.
Hazlewood Exemption
The Hazlewood Exemption is available to all Texas veterans who have served at least 181 days on active duty and have been given an honorable or general (under honorable circumstances) discharge. The veteran must have entered military services while a resident of Texas and must be a Texas resident when applying.
Texas Tomorrow Fund
The Texas tomorrow fund is created as a trust fund dedicated to the prepayment of tuition and fees for higher education as provided by the general laws of this state for the prepaid higher education tuition program. Student participating in the Texas Tomorrow Fund program should take their TX Drivers License and Texas Tomorrow fund ID Card to Fiscal Services (JPL 1.03.06) for tuition payment.
