Disbursement of Summer Aid

In fall/spring financial aid typically disburses all at once 10 days prior to the beginning of class. Since summer is comprised of multiple terms, disbursement for the summer works differently and is often split in two disbursements.

If you are enrolled in a combination of terms that meet for at least 10 weeks total, your grants will be disbursed in 2 disbursements. If you are enrolled at least 1/2 time (6 hours undergraduate, 3 hours graduate) in 1 short summer term (4 or 5 weeks) you will have 1 disbursement date for the summer.

Mini-Semester (M): May 8th
Summer I & 10 Week (F, J, T, I): May 25th and July 5th
Summer II (S, L, O): July 5th

*If attending the first 4-week term (J) only: June 3rd
*If attending the first 3-week term (I) only: June 3rd

Students must be enrolled at least half-time in summer (6 hours undergrad and 3 hours grad) in order to receive a disbursement. If a student drops from a future term and is below half-time when the second disbursement date comes around, scheduled funds will not disburse.

Please keep in mind that withdrawing or dropping from a summer term could affect your financial aid and already disbursed funds may have to be returned per summer Return of Title IV Fund regulations.
