Promoting Your Event:

The sponsoring organization or faculty member is responsible to market the presentation. Student Health Services will provide you with a customized flyer for publicity.

Helpful hints for a successful program:

  • Advertise! Advertise! Advertise! Make copies of the flyers SHS makes for you or you can custom design your own posters. Flyers and posters should be displayed 2 weeks before the event in popular areas.
  • Send out emails to your members/residents/students.
  • Please have at least 10 people at your program. This will allow for better interaction but do not “force” anyone to come.
  • If you feed them, they will come! Food always attracts crowds. Please contact your presenter if you need ideas for healthy snacks.
  • Please meet the presenter 15 minutes before the program to allow the presenter to get set up.

After the Program:

  • Please distribute and collect evaluations after the evaluation.
  • Talk to the presenter and let them know what you liked about the program. Be constructive so that we can adapt future presentations to your needs.
  • Thank everyone for coming and pat yourself on the back for a successful program!

Other Helpful Hints for Presentations:

  • Try to book your presentations for the semester and advertise them as such.
  •  Don’t delay in advertising. 2 weeks advance notice is recommended with a reminder email 2 days prior.
  • Book early for your preferred date! Late end of semester dates will be scheduled for the following semester.
