The Office of the Provost will periodically assess all academic programs at The University of Texas at San Antonio for the purpose of providing the faculty, Department Chairs, and Deans with information that will enhance the quality of the University's degree programs and educational outcomes. This information will also be used to help the University respond to requests for assessment of academic program results from the University of Texas System and/or the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
The Academic Program Assessment Committee oversees all aspects of assessment, on behalf of the Provost, including reviewing and/or revising existing policies, developing and implementing assessment processes and schedules for reviews of programs, including the Core Curriculum, assisting Colleges and Departments with their program reviews, comparing assessment outcomes with College and Department goals, and providing Colleges and Departments with the results of the Committee's analysis and responding to outside agency inquiries.
