Be a part of the Residential Learning Communities at UTSA

What is a Residential Learning Community?
- Various groups of 25-30 freshmen who live at Laurel Village and who also share classes and a weekly Freshmen Seminar class.
- An excellent way to make friends.
- A resource for getting to know the University of Texas San Antonio – its programs and activities –better.
- A connection with experienced peer class leaders, students who have inside knowledge of university life.
- An opportunity to discover San Antonio culture.
- A great beginning to a valuable college education!
Two General RLC includes
- A Freshman Seminar course for students interested in areas such as business, science, the College of Liberal and Fine Arts, or those freshmen who are still undecided about a major.
- Opportunities to participate in discussions, debates, projects, and oral presentation to enhance learning skills.
- UTSA Peer Leaders are involved with the instructors to assist with a student’s perception of UTSA.
- San Antonio area activities and events planned with RLC students in mind.
- Complete the UTSA Residential Learning Community Form and return by May 29, 2009.
New RLC's for Fall 2009 and will be:
- Engineering - for students who are interested in Engineering.
- PACE- for students who are Undecided on a major.
- Leadership (2 sections) - for students who are interested in laying a foundation for a successful journey through college and life by gaining a greater understanding for oneself. (open to all majors).
Who Can Join:
- All freshmen living at Laurel Village who meet the enrollment requirements.
