Glynda's primary responsibility is coordinating housing assignments, housing selection, and temporary housing when necessary. She also serves as the key person responsible for the accuracy of the Housing and Residence Lif database. Glynda also assists housing administrators in creating and maintaining move-in and move-out processes. She is responsible for supporting the day-to-day leasing, marketing and conference activities.
Glynda took the road less travelled when it came to her education and ended her journey right where she is currently working, The University of Texas at San Antonio (B.S. in History). Upon graduation, Glynda became a middle school teacher. Her love of Texas History and the learning process as well as her ability to make learning fun made her job a joy. She is still in contact with many of her students as they are now in their early to mid 20s and to this day they still call her Miss G. After eight years of teaching, Glynda decided to pursue other opportunities. She began working as a U.S. Federal Government contractor in San Antonio. She worked for the maintenance contract as the Facilities Coordinator. After a number of years, the opportunity of coming back to UTSA presented itself and she leaped at the chance to return. She has been the Housing Operations Coordinator since March of 2009.
Glynda enjoys laughing and spending time with good friends and family. Her greatest joy is her son, Robert Steele III. “Trey” is a freshman at John Marshall High School in San Antonio, Texas. She has been married to her husband, Robert Jr. for over 15 years. Robert Jr. holds two World Records at the Bonneville Salt Flats on his 1000cc motorcycle. Their son is eager to make his own mark some day. They also have a lovely Chihuahua. Miss Caroline brings great laughter and excitement to their days.
