Who has to attend Day O.N.E. (Orientation for New Employees) @ UTSA?
ALL New benefits eligible Faculty members at the University of Texas at San Antonio that wish to accept benefits.
What is a benefits eligible employee?
An employee who is hired to work at least 20 hours per week for 4 ½ months (135 days) or longer and who have competitively bid on the position for which they were hired.
Do I have the option to decline Benefits?
Yes, if you are declining benefits you MUST sign paperwork declining benefits to the University.You can fax this paperwork into Human Resources once completed (Fax-210-458-4647)
If I already have a medical insurance plan, are there any other benefits that I am eligible for?
If you elect to waive the basic Medical plan, you are eligible to receive state Premium Sharing (50% if you are full-time and 25% if you are part-time) to purchase, on a pre-tax basis. You may select one or more of the following options:- Dental
- Vision
- Voluntary Group Term Life
- Voluntary Accidental Death and Dismemberment
How do I notify HR that I will attend Day O.N.E.@UTSA?
You will need to send a confirmation e-mail to DayOne@utsa.edu, stating the date that you plan to attend based on the days allocated.
How many days in advance do I need to notify Human Resources of my attendance?
You must notify Human Resources 5 days in advance before a scheduled orientation.
Where do I park during Orientation and do I need a permit?
The Day O.N.E. @ UTSA orientation will be presented at:
University Heights
5723 University Heights Blvd. Suite 500
Parking permits are NOT required to park at this facility.
What do I need to bring to Orientation?
- Jacket/Sweater the temperature will be variable
- CV/Resume
- Acceptable I-9 documents (link)
- Beneficiary Information (link)
- Dependant(s) Information (if applicable, Social Security # & date of birth, birth certificate, marriage certificate, adoption or legal guardian documents) (link)
- Car Information (Make, License Plate, Color, Model)
How long is Day O.N.E. @ UTSA?
Faculty members will be given an Employee Overview and a Benefits summary.
Once the Faculty member has all needed resources and is enrolled in Benefits they are free to leave.
