Orientation and Family Programs offers students a unique leadership development opportunity that empowers them through engagement, challenge and accountability. Students have the opportunity to serve as Graduate Interns, Student Coordinators, Team Leaders and Orientation Leaders through our office.

Graduate Interns

The Office of Orientation and Family Programs offers a variety of Graduate Internship opportunities for students pursuing their Masters degree.  Internships are available during the Fall, Spring and Summer semesters; each semester includes a unique experience from the other.  Please visit our Graduate Internship website for more information.



Student Coordinators

The Office of Orientation and Programs currently employs Student Coordinators; these students get firsthand experience with the planning, programming and implementation of student and Family Orientations, new student camps and family programming.

Team Leaders

The Office of Orientation and Programs currently employs four Team Leaders to serve as the executive committee for the Orientation Leader Association. These students play active leadership roles in the recruitment, mentoring and training of the Orientation Leaders in Training throughout the spring semester.

Orientation Leaders

Orientation Leaders are a dedicated group of students who play an important role in facilitating the transition of new students and their families to UTSA. Our team is trained to share accurate information about academic, personal, and social resources while working collaboratively with faculty, staff and administrators. Orientation Leaders serve in a variety of activities such as New Student Orientation (Roadrunner Roundup), Family Orientation, Roadrunner Camp and the Orientation Leader Association.

Orientation Leaders of the Year

The Orientation Leader of the Year is an award that is presented annually to an Orientation Leader that demonstrates an outstanding commitment to the mission, goals and purpose of orientation. In addition, these outstanding leaders demonstrate an exceptional ability to lead, motivate and serve as role-models for their fellow staff members.

The Freshmen Crew Orientation Leader of the Year 2013 is Christian Kenney and the Family Crew Orientation Leader of the Year 2013 is Rachel Korban.
