Q: Why does UTSA charge a fee to park on campus?
A: Parking and Transportation Services is one of the university's auxiliary departments, and must be completely self-funding relative its parking operations. Costs for UTSA parking facility construction, maintenance, enforcement, administration, and shuttle bus operations must be funded by fees assessed to UTSA parking system users. Parking and Transportation Services receives no tax dollars or tuition fees to support its parking or shuttle bus operations.
