YOLANDA M. AND ROBERT J. CRITTENDEN ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP IN COMMUNICATION
Award: Number and amounts of awards vary

  • Must be an undergraduate in communication who has completed at least 60 semester hours
  • Must be enrolled on a full-time basis (at least 12 hours per semester)
  • Must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Must demonstrate financial need as determined by Student Financial Aid
  • Must be a graduate of a high school in one of the following Texas counties: Atascosa, Bexar, Dimmit, Goliad, Gonzales, Karnes, Maverick, Real, Uvalde, Val Verde, Webb, Zavala
    • Application requirement: Yolanda M. and Robert J. Crittenden Endowed Scholarship in Communication application

THE MARILYN POTTS SCHOLARSHIP OF THE SAN ANTONIO CHAPTER OF THE PUBLIC RELATIONS SOCIETY OF AMERICA
Award: Number and amounts of awards vary

  • Must be a communication major actively pursuing a degree concentrating in Public Relations.
  • Must be in good academic standing and enrolled full-time (at least 12 credit hours per semester)
  • Must be an official member of the UTSA Chapter of Public Relations Student Society of America
  • Must demonstrate activity outside of the classroom in the public relations field, such as internships or other volunteer opportunities.
    • Application requirements: Completed application and statement of career goals (750 words maximum).

SKIP AND JUDY ENO DEBATE SCHOLARSHIP

Award: Number and amount of awards shall vary depending on funds available and the applicant pool in any given year may be incoming freshmen, transfer students, or current undergraduate students at UTSA

  • Must have a minimum GPA of 2.0
  • Will be evaluated on amount, quality and outcomes of previous cross-examination debate experience
  • Must be actively pursuing a degree at UTSA or its successor
  • Must be officially enrolled and in good standing
  • Must achieve and maintain an overall cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or better (on a 4.0 scale) while receiving the scholarship
  • Must be accepted on the UTSA debate team and meet the following debate team requirements through the award period
    • attend and participate in all debate team meetings and practices
    • complete all research assignments and submit by deadlines
    • debate in all assigned tournaments each semester
  • Application requirements: Complete necessary paperwork and documentation for admission and be admitted to UTSA, complete Skip and Judy Eno Debate Scholarship application, U.S. applicants must complete a FAFSA, and international students must submit other proof of income

SAN ANTONIO EXPRESS-NEWS ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP
Award: Number and amounts of awards vary

  • Must have completed at least 60 hours of college credit
  • Must be enrolled on a full-time basis (at least 12 hours per semester)
  • Must be a communication major, interested in pursuing a career in print journalism
  • Must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Must be a resident of Bexar County or other counties in the region termed "South Texas".
    • Application requirements: San Antonio Express-News Endowed Scholarship application and 500-word statement on how recipient will contribute to a profession in communication and print journalism.

SMPS "STRIVING FOR EXCELLENCE IN COMMUNICATION" SCHOLARSHIP
Award: Number and amounts of awards vary

  • Must be a graduate or undergraduate student actively pursuing a degree within the Department of Communication
  • Must be accepted and enrolled full-time (12 credit hours for undergraduates and 9 credit hours for graduate students) and have a 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Must be an official member of the UTSA chapter of the Society for Marketing Professional Services
  • Preference will be given to applicants who have an interest in pursuing a profession in Marketing, Communication, PR, Sales or Business Development

UNIVISION COMMUNICATIONS INC. ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP
Award: $1,500 annual award dispersed in equal amounts for the fall and spring semesters provided all criteria are met and funds remain available

  • Must be enrolled at UTSA as a full time undergraduate student (at least 12 hours per semester)
  • Must be pursuing a degree in communication
  • Must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Must have completed a minimum of 60 semester credit hours at the time of application
  • Must demonstrate fluency in Spanish (determined by personal interview with a delegate selected by the scholarship committee)
  • Preference will be given to those applicants demonstrating financial need as determined by the FAFSA
