JIM BAXTER ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP IN POLITICAL SCIENCE
Award: One or more awards not to exceed the cost of tuition and fees
- Must be enrolled full time (at least 12 credit hours) each semester
- Must be actively pursuing a degree in political science
- Must have completed at least 60 hours of college credit (attained junior status at the time of application)
- Must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
- Must be a resident of Texas and citizen or permanent resident of the United States
- Preference will be given to students demonstrating a financial need as determined by the FAFSA
- Application requirements: Application (original plus three copies)
- Deadline: February 15
DR. JAMES D. CALDER ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP
Award: Three awards of $300 for political science majors, and one award of $300 for geography majors (To be distributed in full during the fall semester each year.)
- Must be full-time undergraduate students with a declared major in political science or geography
- Must have attained at least junior status at the time of application
- Must have at least a minimum UTSA GPA of 2.7
- Must be Texas resident
- Application requirement: Application (original plus three copies) with essay addressing following:
- Why do you believe this scholarship should be awarded to you?
- Explain your expected future contributions to the field of political science or geography.
- What pivotal experiences in your life, including your education, have encouraged you to pursue a degree in political science or geography?
- Deadline: February 15
MINNIE P. MASTORIS ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP
Award: Number and amounts of awards vary
- Must be enrolled full time (at least 12 hours) at the undergraduate level each semester
- Must be actively pursuing a geography degree
- Must be a resident of Bexar County, Texas
- Must have graduated in the top 50 percent of high school class and have a minimum of 2.5 GPA or attain the same 2.5 GPA in college or university work
- Application requirement: Application (original plus three copies)
- Deadline: February 15
RUBÉN MUNGUÍA ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP
Award: Number and amount awards vary
- Must be a graduate student in political science
- Must be enrolled in at least 6 hours towards political science master's degree each semester
- Must submit a one-page essay on why you are pursuing the M.A. in political science, what you plan to do after graduation, and your current financial need
- Application requirements: Application with one-page essay (original plus three copies)
- Deadline: February 15
