GUNN FAMILY ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP IN SOCIAL WORK
Award: Varies
- Must be a graduate student at UTSA actively pursuing a degree from the College of Public Policy in the Department of Social Work, or its successor
- Must have, and maintain, a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale)
- Applicants must complete the UTSA College of Public Policy Scholarship Application
- This scholarship is not renewable; however, current and past recipients may reapply if they meet all minimum criteria.
- Recipients will be selected by a committee officially recognized by the university and appointed by the dean of the College of Public Policy
- Notification of the recipients and their progress will be made in writing annually to the donor.
- Application requirements: Application available from the department office.
- Deadline: Varies; students enrolled in the social work program are notified about the application process and deadlines
HOGG FOUNDATION FOR MENTAL HEALTH BILINGUAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Award: Full tuition and fees for duration of MSW Program
- Must be an incoming student to the Department of Social Work MSW Program in the spring 2011 semester with an interest in mental health services
- Must be bilingual/able to communicate orally and in writing Spanish
- Must be willing to work in the field of mental health in Texas after graduation for a time equivalent to the duration of scholarship
- Must complete an application form, resume, and essay
- Finalists must complete a bilingual assessment conducted in English and Spanish
- Must participate in a UTSA Hogg Scholars mentoring program and attend an annual meeting of Texas Hogg Scholars held in conjunction with the Texas National Association of Social Workers conference (funds are provided to attend this meeting)
- This scholarship is renewable each semester that the student remains in good academic standing
- Recipients will be selected by a committee officially recognized by the university and appointed by the dean of the College of Public Policy
