Announcements: UTSA United to Serve! United to Serve, UTSA’s annual day of service, will be held Saturday, April 12, 2008 at various agencies throughout the San Antonio area. This event is a part of the UT System’s annual United to Serve initiative at UT campuses throughout the state.
Students, Faculty, Staff, and Friends can register to participate online at www.utsa.edu/sa/vs. Volunteer events include the Cibolo Creek Earth Day Clean-Up, The Autism Awareness Walk, a mini-graffiti wipe-out, painting picnic tables at the San Antonio State School, and many more! Most shifts are 4 hours and begin in the morning.
All participants will get a United to Serve t-shirt and will be invited to attend the Volunteer Appreciation Ice Cream Social April 16, 2008 in the UC Denman Room at 2:30pm. The event is sponsored by the Office of the President, The Inclusion & Community Engagement Center, and VOICES (Volunteer Organization Involving Community Education & Service). Be a part of the tradition!
New Graduate Assistant! Migel Angel Navarro is the new Graduate Assistant for the Inclusion and Community Engagement Center. He has a B.A. in Psychology from Texas State University and is pursuing his Masters in Community Counseling here at UTSA. After graduating, he wants to continue working in the local community with non-profit and “grass-roots” organizations. He is originally from Houston, TX.
