Lacy has been a true example of leadership through her high level of commitment and involvement while at UTSA. She started the Environmental Representative group on campus which initiated the process that included President Romo signing the President’s Climate Commitment. Her participation with Student Government, the Alpha Chi Honors Fraternity and the Green Society has given her opportunities to share her passion for the environment with others on campus. She has turned her passion into action through the many projects she began or became involved with while at UTSA. According to John Montoya, “She lives and owns her desire to make a difference in the world. She is an excellent example of how a leader can embrace an issue, take it on and inspire others to do the same”. When asked what leadership meant to her, Lacy stated, “Leadership is something that an individual or a group practices every day. It’s about pursing your goals, motivating people, and staying focused on your dreams”.
