Thank you all so much for your hard work to make the inaugural Spring Family Day a success. The brainstorming, planning, and prepping that led up to the Rowdy Family Tailgate came together on a beautiful, albeit windy, afternoon last Saturday. Families and parents from across the state and country were able to see Roadrunner spirit in action with the performance from the Pep Band, the Rowdy tattoo station, and the Paseo-turned-tailgate zone. I look forward to working with you all as Spring Family Day grows over the years.

Go Runners!

To: Jan McKinney, Assistant Director, Student Conduct and Community Standards
From: B.J. Gola, Administrative Services Officer III, Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs

It is my great privilege to honor Jan McKinney with “Thank You Rowdy” to recognize her outstanding work and contributions to Student Affairs and the campus. The last 4 years I have witnessed Jan’s dedication to make our division’s True Colors and Four C’s initiatives successful in addition to performing her regular duties. As an original member of the Education Team, Jan was asked by Dr. Paine to develop our division-wide True Colors initiative. It is now a popular campus-wide and community program with more than 4,000 people who have participated. As a True Colors facilitator she has trained countless staff, student groups, student employees, academic and other campus department staff. She has also contributed many hours developing curriculum and teaching our division’s foundational excellence model - The Four C’,s which all staff are also required to attend.

Jan, you are a great leader and practice all that you teach. You communicate, collaborate, connect, and create every day for the good of the division! I appreciate your leadership and for sharing your time and considerable talents. You have been a tremendous resource for me in planning the logistics to support these sessions. You make a difference at UTSA. You are a great example of excellence in service and programming!

With gratitude,
B.J. Gola
