Homecoming, with all its pageantry is a wonderful experience at UTSA, and it's growing in significance with each passing year. Many schools might define homecoming just with their football game and tailgate. For Roadrunners, these are certainly anchoring events, but we proudly offer so much more: BestFest, Rowdy Rampage Fireworks Spectacular & Golf Cart Parade, RowdyTouille, Roadrunners Live, National Night Out, Roadrunners Give Back, Comedy Night, Homecoming Golf Tournament, and not to mention many campus sporting events.

Perhaps one of our proudest moments is the crowning of Mr. and Ms. UTSA and the presentation of the Homecoming Court. The 2014-2015 Homecoming Court is:

  So, it's no wonder that UTSA Alumni look forward to Homecoming. This offers a great chance to reconnect with our broader Roadrunner family, and deepen connections. Jarvis Clark, Associate Director of Student Activities, shared the following insights from his time spent with alumni at the football game:

  "The atmosphere was charged with great energy and excitement, as alumni educated current staff members about the “good ol days” and what it meant to be Greek during the mid-90’s. They talked about the growth of the university and the great strides that were being made. Some alumni also shared candid assessments of the potential hurdles that they believe need to be cleared and the areas of concern that need to be addressed.

  

  The Fraternity|Sorority Community currently serves approximately 1,100 students and this semester the community has doubled its incoming recruitment class from last fall (which does not reflect the ongoing recruitment processes of the National Pan-Hellenic and Multi-Cultural Greek Councils). The community continues to retain UTSA students at a high rate from one year to the next, and with the revision of the accountability standards, the Fraternity|Sorority Community is committed to providing a worthwhile experience to prospective students that highlight leadership, scholarship, service and social development.

  What we learned from our alumni representation this weekend, was that while things may change in process and execution, the spirt, passion and vitality that was present in this community’s inception, is still alive, sustainable and thriving today. We send a very warm and thoughtful appreciation to the Vice President of Student Affairs, the Development Office and of course our esteemed alumni for providing our current Fraternity|Sorority Life staff with the opportunity to obtain a rich history that will propel and shape the way that we work and interact with this amazing community for years to come!"
