With the theme, "Back to School... Back to Life," the entire UTSA community is invited to participate. Each donor will receive a free T-shirt or baseball cap, and refreshments will be available.
All donors must be age 17 or older, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good general health. It is recommended to eat before donating blood. All participants must bring photo identification.
The local blood must collect 500 units of blood on a daily basis to meet the needs of local hospitals and clinics. It is estimated that only 5 percent of the 60 percent of the eligible population give blood.
