Fall Convocation kicks of fall semester Aug. 22

(August 3, 2005)--UTSA faculty, staff and students are invited to kick off the fall semester at the third annual Fall Convocation from 9 to 10:30 a.m., Monday, August 22 in the Convocation Center, 1604 Campus.
The Fall Convocation is part of Roadrunner Days, which both new and transfer students are required to attend.

First organized in 2002, Fall Convocation is an opportunity for new students to discover the academic traditions, accomplishments, pride and future of the UTSA community. The theme for the 2005 convocation is "The Journey Begins." Keynote speaker for the ceremony is Antwone Fisher, author of the New York Times bestseller "Finding Fish" and screenwriter of the film "Antwone Fisher, directed by and starring Academy Award winner Denzel Washington.
All faculty and staff are invited to participate in the ceremony by wearing academic regalia and marching in the academic procession. Those wishing to rent regalia for the event can place an order by August 8 at the UTSA Bookstore on the 1604 Campus.
