San Antonio native and ABC newsman John Quinones to speak Sept. 7 at ITC

(Sept. 1, 2005)--San Antonio native John Quinones, a six-time Emmy Award-winning ABC News correspondent, will speak at UTSA's Institute of Texan Cultures at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 7.
The event is free and open to the public.

Quinones will discuss his experiences as a Latino working in the media and reflect on the inclusion of his portrait in the Smithsonian Institution's photographic exhibit, "Our Journeys/Our Stories: Portraits of Latino Achievement," on display at the Institute of Texan Cultures through Oct. 16.
The Smithsonian exhibit presents narratives and photos of 24 individuals and one extended family representing a broad spectrum of Latino experiences and success stories. The exhibit is brought to San Antonio in partnership with Centro Alameda and made possible by the Ford Motor Company Fund.
The Institute of Texan Cultures is at 801 South Bowie St. in downtown San Antonio.
Parking adjacent to the Institute of Texan Cultures is available for $6.
