UTSA seeks input during search for new provost
(Oct. 19, 2005)--The UTSA Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Search Committee invites students, faculty, staff and the external community to participate in one of several forums, Friday, Oct. 21 and Tuesday, Oct. 25 in the University Center Willow Room (2.02.12) on the 1604 Campus. Participants will be able to provide input on the qualities and characteristics they would like to see in a new provost.

Current UTSA Provost and Executive Vice President Guy Bailey has accepted the position of chancellor (equivalent to university president) at the University of Missouri-Kansas City and will leave UTSA Dec. 31. Rosalie Ambrosino will serve as interim provost and vice president effective Jan. 1, 2006. Ambrosino has served as UTSA vice president for student affairs since 2001.
UTSA President Ricardo Romo appointed James McDonald, professor and chair of the Department of Anthropology, to lead the search committee. McDonald seeks input from UTSA constituencies as part of the search. McDonald and Betty Turner Asher of Greenwood and Associates Inc, an executive search firm, will moderate the forums.
