Business college hosts tourism careers panel

(Oct. 28, 2005)--Area leaders from the tourism management industry will discuss careers in tourism during a panel discussion at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1.
The event provides students an opportunity to interact with professionals and learn about career development topics such as internships and career options.
The panel, sponsored by the UTSA College of Business and Career Services, will be in the Business Building University Room (2.06.04), 1604 Campus, and is open to students in all majors.

Guest speakers include Dan Decker, executive vice president, SeaWorld San Antonio; Caryn Hasslocher, president and owner, Alamo City Events; Roy Kretschmer, general manager, Hotel Valencia; and Christine Ortega, regional manager, Southwest Airlines. Tom Cannon, director of the UTSA tourism management program, will moderate the discussion.
The UTSA College of Business offers a B.B.A. degree in marketing with a tourism concentration. Students considering this degree option will have an opportunity to review the curriculum at the event.
