(Nov. 17, 2005)--VIA Metropolitan Transit began new service routes Nov. 7, and the UTSA 1604 and Downtown campuses benefited from the additional service.
Due to passenger requests, VIA announced additional bus service to route 93 Route effective Thursday, Nov. 17, which serves the 1604 Campus and Crossroads Mall. The midday express bus offers additional service during the peak hours of 8:30 a.m.-3:20 p.m. weekdays between Crossroads Mall, University Park and Ride, and the 1604 Campus only, as requested by passengers.

Additionally, through a continuing agreement with VIA, UTSA students, faculty and staff can ride VIA's express routes 93 and 94 free by showing a valid UTSACard.
Route 93, inbound and outbound, makes six stops including both UTSA campuses, the Shops at La Cantera, Valero Energy, University Park and Ride under Loop 1604 and Crossroads Park and Ride. A one-way trip takes approximately 55 minutes.
Route 94, inbound and outbound, makes five stops including both UTSA campuses, the Shops at La Cantera, University Park and Ride, and Fiesta Texas. A one-way trip takes approximately 45 minutes.
Route 93 stops are located on the Downtown Campus at the Frio Street and Buena Vista Street bus stops. With the new service, express route 94 downtown bus stops changed. The route 94 in-bound downtown drop-off stop is at the corner of Dolorosa and San Saba streets; the outbound downtown pick-up stop is at the corner of Commerce and San Saba streets.
