Some UTSA hours change during winter break

(Dec. 20, 2005)--Hours for several offices and services on the UTSA 1604 and Downtown campuses have changed for the winter break.

The university is working to conserve energy over the break by co-locating some services with most student services consolidated to the John Peace Library Building during skeleton crew days.

Offices: The following offices will be closed from Dec. 23, 2005 to Jan. 2, 2006: Special Events, Student Leadership and Cultural Programs (Downtown and 1604 campuses), Student Life, University Center, Recreation and Wellness Center, Business Operations, Business Technology, Accounting, Grants and Contracts, Payroll, Employee Relations, Facilities Planning, Budget and DEFINE.

Library: The library will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and closed weekends Dec. 24-26, Jan. 1 and Jan. 14-16. Normal library hours resume Jan. 17.

Campus Recreation is open weekdays from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., Jan. 2-16, and has posted hours for all its facilities during the winter break on Campus Recreation Web site.

Chisholm Hall swimming pool is open 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., Dec. 27-29.

Food services will be limited to the John Peace Library Building on the 1604 Campus and the Frio Street Building food court on the Downtown Campus. Food service hours are 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Dec. 19 to Dec. 23; closed Dec. 26; 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Dec. 27-30; 7:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (Downtown Campus service closes at 2 p.m.), Jan. 2-16. All food services will reopen with regular hours Jan. 17. The Roadrunner Cafe reopens with brunch Jan. 14.

Chapparal Village desk hours: Dec 20-23: 8 a.m.-8 p.m., Dec. 24-25: closed, Dec. 26: 3 p.m.-8 p.m., Dec. 27-30: 8 a.m.-8 p.m., Dec. 31-Jan. 1: 3 p.m.-8 p.m., Jan. 2-6: 8 a.m.-8 p.m., Jan. 7-8: 3 p.m.-8 p.m., Jan. 9-11: 8 a.m.-10 p.m. Regular hours begin Jan. 12. During the winter break, there will be a 24-hour resident assistant on call in case of emergencies: Buildings 1,2,3,4,5 and 12 should call (210) 889-0481. Buildings 6,7,8,9,10 and 11 should call (210) 336-2578.
