(Dec. 7, 2005)--UTSA Roadrunners, prepare your wallets for a special faculty and staff discount at the gift store at the Institute of Texan Cultures. Additionally, UTSA students, faculty and staff receive free general admission to the ITC with a UTSACard.

This holiday, buy your family, friends and loved ones gifts that show appreciation for their heritage. The gift store at the ITC, one of UTSA's three campuses, offers a variety of gift choices, such as Texas-themed tree ornaments, ethnic pendants and jewelry, stuffed animals and educational toys, Russian stacking dolls and coffee mugs donning the ITC logo.

On Dec. 7, UTSA faculty and staff will receive a 30 percent discount on all items in the store, except books, which always are offered at a 20 percent discount to UTSA faculty and staff.

Can't make it Dec. 7? Don't fret. UTSA faculty and staff receive a 25 percent discount on all items, except books, purchased from Dec. 8 through Dec. 23.

The ITC, one of three campuses of UTSA, showcases multi-cultural exhibits and programs designed to enhance our understanding of cultural history, science, technology and their influence on the diverse people of Texas.

The institute's exhibits include many cultural and ethnic group areas, a multimedia dome show, a puppet theater, and demonstrations including a chuck wagon and a weaving and spinning area. The main exhibit floor is an educational tool for teachers and educators in training as well as the general public.

The museum also hosts visiting displays and activities including an upcoming Christmas music concert, a Christmas book collection, a Pre-Columbian ceramic exhibit called "Animal Spirits and Warrior Kings" and the annual Asian Festival, this year with an exhibit of Asian games.
