Donate toys to make holiday season happier

(Dec. 7, 2005)--UTSA community members have the opportunity to donate to two charity programs that provide toys for children during the holiday season.
The Center for Archaeological Research (CAR) is helping the U.S. Marine Corps collect new, unwrapped toys for the Toys for Tots program. Donation boxes are located in the Department of Anthropology (Humanities and Social Sciences Building Room 4.03.36, 1604 Campus), the Office of the Registrar (John Peace Library Building, 1604 Campus), the University Heights break room, Center for Archaeological Research Room 1.00.04, 1604 Campus) and the 1604 Campus mail room.

Donations will be accepted until noon, Wednesday, Dec. 14. For more information, visit the Toys for Tots Web site or call CAR at (210) 458-4378.
The UTSA athletics training department and the student-athlete trainers are collecting toys for the San Antonio Blue Santa program. Toys will be collected Dec. 11 at the men's basketball game against Jackson State. Donors will receive a coupon for Marble Slab ice cream stores. Collections will be accepted during the game in the front foyer of the Convocation Center, 1604 Campus.
Additionally, toys are accepted at the athletics training room in the Convocation Center 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Friday. For more information, call (210) 458-4178.
