(May 15, 2006)--The UTSA Alumni Association will host a Connections Breakfast at 7:15 a.m., Thursday, May 25 at the Marriott Northwest hotel, Loop 410 at Interstate 10.

Guest speaker John T. Montford, AT&T senior vice president for legislative and regulatory affairs, will offer insights and perspectives on the new AT&T.

With AT&T Inc., Montford is responsible for regulatory, legislative, governmental and external affairs in the states west of the Mississippi, except California. He joined SBC in 2001 and was appointed to his current position in November 2005 with the merger of SBC and AT&T.

Montford has enjoyed a long and varied career in the public and private sectors, notably as a member of the Texas Senate for 14 years and as chancellor of the Texas Tech University system. He served as chairman of the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce and the San Antonio Economic Development Foundation.

He and his wife, Debbie Montford, were honored by the UTSA Alumni Association for their contributions to the community and higher education with the Distinguished Service Award at the 2005 Alumni Rising Star Gala.

The UTSA Alumni Association's Connections Breakfast series offers opportunities for alumni to network and share their personal experiences in a variety of career fields. Each quarterly breakfast features a special topic and a seasoned professional offering insights, unique experiences and hard-won advice.

Connections Breakfasts provide opportunities to become reacquainted with alumni and meet community leaders. Membership in the UTSA Alumni Association is not required to attend the events, and corporate table sponsorships are available.

Admission to the Connections Breakfast is $15 for UTSA Alumni Association members and $20 for non-members. Breakfast is served at 7:45 a.m. and the program begins at 8 a.m.
