Graduate School offers workshops, information fairs

(Aug. 22, 2006)--The UTSA Graduate School will host graduate student orientation sessions and thesis/dissertation workshops to help graduate students gear up for the new school year. Additionally, the upcoming Graduate and Professional School Fair is for those interested in pursuing a graduate degree at UTSA or other universities.

The Fall 2006 Graduate Orientation for UTSA graduate students is 4-5 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 29 in Frio Street Building Room 1.402 at the Downtown Campus and 4-5 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 30 in Business Building Room 2.06.04 at the 1604 Campus. Graduate students can register online for an orientation session.

The Graduate and Professional School Fair is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 10 in the Humanities and Social Sciences Building atrium lobby, 1604 Campus. Graduate school representatives from across the nation will provide information on:

  • Admission requirements
  • Graduate degree programs and specializations
  • Housing and cost of living
  • Student life and campus activities
  • Internship and research opportunities
  • Financial assistance

Graduate students working on a thesis or dissertation can come to one of the Fall Workshops for Thesis and Dissertation. The workshop at the 1604 Campus is at 4 p.m., Monday, Sept. 18 in the University Center Pecan Room (2.01.26). At the Downtown Campus, the workshop is at 4 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 21 in Frio Street Building Room 3.512. Graduate students can register online for thesis-dissertation workshops.
