(Nov. 14, 2006)--Toyota Motor Corporation was one of 125 companies represented at the recent 2006 UTSA Career Fair at the Convocation Center on the 1604 Campus. More than 900 students attended the event, which was the largest ever at UTSA.

Fair exhibitors represented major companies including Microsoft, Lockheed-Martin, Raytheon, USAA and AT&T.

An added component at this year's fair was the opportunity for more than 50 UTSA alumni to return to their alma mater to recruit employees.

"The enthusiasm has been great so far, especially with the good business and engineering programs at UTSA," said UTSA alumna Rachel Espinoza, who works in Toyota's staffing and recruiting department. "I think since manufacturing at this level is pretty new, everybody is very curious to find out what we have to offer."

According to UTSA Career Services Director Susan Dollar, smaller specialized fairs are scheduled this academic year at the Downtown Campus for criminal justice, nonprofit and architecture majors.

Dollar recommends students dress up, bring plenty of resumes and be prepared to talk to employers about what they expect from their employees.
