Effective January 2007, all non-accounting post-award functions will be transferred from the Office of Grants and Contracts Administration to the new Office of Sponsored Programs. The move is to enhance services and provide a "cradle-to-grave" approach for the administration of sponsored grants and contracts.
The functions will include award monitoring, rebudgeting requests and no-cost extensions as well as other post-award responsibilities. More announcements will be made in the coming weeks.
The newly renamed Office of Grants and Contracts Financial Services will continue to prepare financial reports, draw federal funds and handle billings for all sponsors.
Both offices will to work together to assist UTSA researchers in the management of sponsored programs.
