UTSA hosts gospel choir concert Feb. 2

(Jan. 25, 2007)--As part of Black History Month, UTSA will host "Gospel Explosion," a concert by three local gospel choirs, at 7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 2 in the University Center Retama Auditorium (2.02.02) on the 1604 Campus.

Free and open to the public, the concert will feature the St. Paul United Methodist Church Men's Choir, the Students in Christ Youth Center Choir and Praise Dancers, and the UTSA Victory in Praise Gospel Choir. Preceding the concert, a dessert reception is at 6 p.m. in the Retama Auditorium
The UTSA Victory in Praise Gospel Choir is a registered student organization with more than 50 members including students, faculty and staff.
UTSA sponsors of "Gospel Explosion" are the Office of Institutional Diversity, African American Studies Program, Office of Student Activities, student organization UMOJA and Students United for a Million More Movement.
