(Aug. 9, 2007)--Dana Forgione, UTSA's Janey S. Briscoe Endowed Chair in the Business of Health, will discuss "Health Care: Cost vs. Quality" during the UTSA College of Business Knowledge Forum Breakfast on Thursday, Aug. 16. Citi is the presenting sponsor of the event.

A professor of accounting, Forgione leads the college's initiatives in the business-of-health area. A distinguished academic and pioneer in health care accounting and financial management, his research interests are in external audits and governance in health care entities, comparative international health care accounting, financing systems and quality of care. He has more than 90 publications, most of which are in the area of health care business.
Forgione is the founder and director of the International Society for Research in Healthcare Financial Management and the managing editor of the journal Research in Healthcare Financial Management. His consulting work has been used twice by the U.S. Congress in major national health care policy deliberations, as well as by the State of Texas in landmark charity-care legislation.
The event begins with a networking breakfast at 7:15 a.m. in the Durango Building Southwest Room (1.124) at the UTSA Downtown Campus, followed by the program at 7:45 a.m. and concluding at 8:30 a.m. Free parking is available in the UTSA Durango Loop lot. View a map and parking directions.
