
UTSA reorganizes, renames diversity office

(Sept. 24, 2007)--The UTSA Office of Institutional Diversity has been reorganized and renamed the Office of Equal Opportunity Services, it was announced today by UTSA officials.

"The new Office of Equal Opportunity Services, as part of the Office of Legal Affairs, will better serve the needs of the UTSA community and more accurately reflect its primary function," said Elizabeth Mitchell, UTSA chief legal officer and head of the Office of Legal Affairs.
The Office of Equal Opportunity Services will continue to be available to students, faculty and staff who allege unlawful discrimination or retaliation and need more information or wish to file a complaint. The telephone number will remain (210) 458-4120.
Diversity programming functions have been transferred to the Inclusion and Community Engagement Center, part of the Office of Student Affairs.
Diversity, discrimination and harassment training has been consolidated within the UTSA Office of Training and Development in the Office of Human Resources. For more information, call (210) 458-4659.
