UTSA community to celebrate Diversity Month

(Oct. 26, 2007)--UTSA Diversity Month activities will be celebrated throughout November. The signature event for the month is the UTSA Tri-Campus diversity fair, "Celebrate UTSA: All Different, All Roadrunners," is a chance for UTSA community members to celebrate and share their group or identity in a performance showcase or at an information table. Open to UTSA students, faculty, staff and friends, the event is 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 13 at Sombrilla Plaza on the 1604 Campus. The rain site is the Recreation Center.

Stage events can include music, poetry readings, dance, cultural demonstrations, speeches or other presentations to educate and inform others about your identity or group. UTSA organizations and departments are encouraged to sign up for information tables.
More than 1,000 attended last year's Diversity Month celebration. The Nov. 13 fair is a celebration of all of the diversity represented throughout the UTSA community, such as race, ethnicity, culture, age, disability, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, political affiliation, geography, sports, religion, employment and academic departments -- any difference that makes a difference.
