Former NASA shuttle commander speaks Nov. 9 at UTSA

(Nov. 7, 2007)--The UTSA Honors College will present a lecture by Colonel (Ret.) Steven Lindsey, chief of the NASA Astronaut Corps, at 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 9 in Main Building Room 3.106 on the 1604 Campus. Additionally, Lindsey will present the Honors College with a stole that he carried into space during his last mission.

RSS FeedsThe lecture will include a video about several of NASA's current projects including work on the International Space Station and the Hubble Space Telescope Orbital System. Lindsey will conduct a question-and-answer session with audience members.
A graduate of Temple City High School in California, Lindsey received a bachelor of science degree in engineering sciences from the U.S. Air Force Academy and a master of science degree in aeronautical engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology.
Selected by NASA in March 1995, he became an astronaut in May 1996. A veteran of four space flights, Lindsey logged more than 1,203 hours in space.
