Connections Breakfast features UC architect

(Jan. 15, 2008)--The UTSA Alumni Association will host Jeff Stebar of Perkins+Will Architects speaking on "Environmental Stewardship: Building an Environmentally Sustainable Future" at the next Connections Breakfast. The event is 7:15 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 12 at the Marriott Northwest Hotel, Loop 410 at Interstate 10. Stebar led the design team for the UTSA University Center expansion, which is scheduled to open next fall.

Stebar has led master planning, programming and design efforts for a variety of college and university clients and is a nationally recognized specialist in design and planning of student union facilities. He holds LEED AP (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) professional accreditation, which recognizes expertise in green building practices and principles.
Incorporating concepts known as "sustainable design," the nationally known firm Perkins+Will builds structures that incorporate environmental concerns from the beginning of the design process.
Admission to the Connections Breakfast is $20 for UTSA Alumni Association members and UTSA students, $25 for non-members. Breakfast is at 7:45 a.m. with the program beginning at 8 a.m.
