Job hunting? Employers discuss MySpace impact

(March 26, 2008)--The UTSA Office of Student Activities and the UTSA Office of Career Services will host a panel discussion, "Your Space or Mine?" on the impact of Web profiles on job prospects. Free and open to the public, the event is 3 p.m., Monday, March 31 in the University Center Denman Room (2.01.28) on the 1604 Campus.

The panel of San Antonio employers will discuss how online profiles developed by students on Facebook, MySpace and other social media Web sites can be a deciding factor in establishing a career. The profile pages that employers find often are a negative factor and can greatly decrease chances of obtaining a job.
