Renowned saxophonist Valerie Vidal performs April 14

(April 11, 2008)--Renowned saxophonist Valerie Vidal will perform at 7:30 p.m., Monday, April 14 in the Arts Building Recital Hall on the UTSA 1604 Campus as part of the Monday Night Artist Series. Hosted by the Department of Music, the performance will include accompaniment by Scott Holshouse on piano and new works by UTSA Associate Professor David Heuser and Houston composers Rob Smith and Pierre Jalbert.

Described as "stunning" and "a true star" by the Houston Chronicle, Vidal regularly captures audiences with her vibrant style. Her notable engagements include performances with the Houston Symphony, Greenbriar Consortium, Texas Music Festival Rockwell Distinguished Artist Series, Millennium Chamber Orchestra in New York City and the New Jersey Lyric Orchestra.
Vidal is a faculty member at Houston Baptist University and the University of Houston Moores School of Music.
